Intelligence:

One of the first requirements as a catcher is learning as much about the pitching staff (strengths/weaknesses) as possible.   The catcher must also learn how to call a game.  Many times a coach may be calling the pitches from the bench, but the catcher still must be in tune with the flow of the game and it’s up to them to make sure the pitcher hits different locations by giving a good target.  Learn as much information as possible about pitching.  A good catcher will be on the same page as the pitcher.

Training is based on each individual’s ability to adapt. Each phase must be achieved prior to moving to the next phase. The amount of time spent on each phase depends on the individual’s desire, commitment (including practicing between lessons), and understanding of that phase. The client and their parents should determine their goals and what they are interested in learning prior to beginning lessons.

Rates:

  • Private Lessons: $35.00/ ½ hour
  • Private Lessons: $65.00/1 hour

Please note: Each individual is scheduled for a specific ½ hour/hour and day of the week (we refer to this as a “slot”). Due to the fact that we have committed this ½ hour/hour to training this particular individual, you are responsible for payment of this slot whether you are here or not (illness or injury is the only exception). Fees are to be paid in advance at the beginning of each month. We understand that this is not feasible for every family’s household budget. For those, we require 2 week’s payment initially and 1 week’s payment each week thereafter to insure that 1 week is always paid in advance
